Kaieteur Sports – Windball cricket competition action continues in National Sports Commission, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Janet & Cheddi Jagan Secondary Schools Windball Cricket competitions.
The competition, which is being coordinated by Senior Sports organiser Allister Munroe, saw the latest match being played in the Region 4 zone at the National Gymnasium.
In the Cheddi Jagan boys final, Poor fielding and too many dot balls cost last year’s national quarter finalists and Region 4 defending champions Covent Garden Secondary.
La Bonne Intention Secondary won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 123 – 0 with Kyle Gibson hitting 71 (9x 6) and Munesh Outar 29.
Covent Garden in reply, put up a good fight but fell short, ending on 103-1 with Jarrele Shultz 42 and Orwin Jordan 32.
The other regions in the national playoff so far are Region 2, defending champ Abrams Zuil, Region seven winner Three Miles, Region 10 Mackenzie High and Georgetown winner Saint Stanislaus College. The competition is continuing. (Samuel Whyte)
