2026 ENet National Squash Championship… Khalil, Ince shine as tournament wraps up on high note
Kaieteur Sports – Ashley Khalil and Daniel Ince starred in the recently concluded 2026 Guyana Squash Association (GSA)/ENet National championships which ended on Sunday.
Some of Guyana’s elite players did battle at the National Racquet Centre, Woolford Avenue, with two of the top male and female stars pulling out some top performances to finish atop their respective categories.
After a number of intense encounters, only four players would remain when the dust settled, thus setting up two mouth-watering clashes for the championships.
The GSA ENet National championships brought down curtains following brilliant performances by some of the country’s elite squash players.
Senior National player Khalil, locked in a heated battle with arch rival and another of the country’s top players in Mary Fung-A-Fat, emerged victorious thus sealing her 5th title at the national level.
Khalil, after five competitive sets, won the duel with scores 7-11, 11-7, 8-11, 11-7, 11-7 to claim honours in the Women’s Elite category but not before being tested by her opponent.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s Elite division, Ince found his way to the top after going past the experienced Samuel Ince-Carvahal, who’s experience didn’t quite help to stave off a three set defeat.
Ince emerged the winner after notching up scorelines 11-6, 11-8 and 11-4 to clinch the Men’s title despite leading for most of the clash.
The tournament featured a large turnout from the country’s top crop, who maintained a competitive spirit throughout the respective legs leading up to the final battle for the titles.
