Kaieteur Sports – Renegades South crowned the champion at the 2026 Reliance Hustlers Sports Club Easter Sunday T10 Blast having defeated the hosts by 12 runs in the final played at Reliance Sports ground, Essequibo Coast, Region 2 (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
Renegades South received $150,000 and a trophy while Hustlers collected $75,000 and a trophy, compliments of Guyana Breweries under the 592 brand (beer).
Renegades South took first strike at the invitation of Reliance Hustlers and reached a challenging 57-8 from the allotted 8-overs tapeball cricket.
Hustlers were left strangled at 45-6 when the 8-overs experienced.
David Williams hit a top-score for Renegades South of 23 runs and was named player-of-the-match for his batting effort. Williams took home a trophy.
Medium-pacer Carlus Yhap was voted as the player-of-the-tournament after taking seven wickets having represented Reliance Hustlers Sports Club.
Five teams participated in the annual competition with Evolution, Young Achievers and Reliance Sports Club the other competing sides.
It was initially set for a six-team hard-ball extravaganza but due to steady rainfall, the organizers were forced to play tape-ball which turned out to be successful.
One of the organizers Trevis Simon expressed satisfaction with the day’s event which also marked the sixth edition.
Simon, who is also the president of Reliance Hustlers Sports Club, thanked all the sides for their participation and echoed similar sentiments to Guyana Breweries and everyone to support the fund-raising event.
According to Simon, funds raised from the bar-b-que sales will go towards the club’s cricket academy and their forthcoming tour of Trinidad and Tobago.
