The West Indies Women continued their perfect start to the Evara Women’s International Tri-Series by showcasing an explosive batting exhibition against Pakistan, beating them by 25 runs.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Caribbean side posted a massive 199-6 from their allotted 20 overs.
Captain Hayley Matthews, fresh off an unbeaten fifty against Ireland in the opening game, set a blistering tone at the top of the order, smashing 40 runs off just 20 deliveries (9×4).
Veteran Stafanie Taylor kept the foot on the gas with a solid 39 (4×4 2×6), while Jannillea Glasgow top-scored with a hot 42 off 25 (7×4).
Player of the Match Chinelle Henry provided the late-innings fireworks, blasting 33 runs from just 17 balls to push the target out of reach.
Faced with a daunting target of 200, Pakistan’s chase derailed early as they slumped to 28 for 3 inside the first four overs.
Saira Jabeen counter-attacked briefly with a quickfire 30 off 19 balls, while Iram Javed contributed 24.
Middle-order anchor Aliya Riaz fought hard with a top score of 37 and skipper Fatima Sana chipped in with 27 runs off 14 balls.
However, a disciplined West Indies bowling attack, spearheaded by Henry’s 2-13 and Shawnisha Hector’s 2-21, restricted Pakistan to 174-8 sealing a comprehensive victory.
