Kaieteur Sports – As the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) advances its Youth Ensemble Programme, designed to nurture the development of aspiring Under-13 and Under-15 footballers, the level of competition has continued to soar, with several teams asserting their dominance over the past three weeks.
The initiative provides young footballers with a structured pathway to further develop their skills while offering a valuable platform to showcase their talents. Through consistent competition and exposure, players are gaining invaluable experience that contributes to their growth both on and off the field.
A series of exciting matches have unfolded across various venues, producing standout performances, thrilling encounters, and impressive team displays.

Here’s a recap of the Under-13 division at Buxton Ground – May 16
Golden Stars secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Plaisance FC thanks to a decisive 48th-minute strike from John Mitchell. Victoria Kings also claimed a 1-0 win, edging Triumph United after Antwan Robinson found the back of the net in the 13th minute.
Buxton All Stars FC delivered a commanding performance to defeat Ann’s Grove United 3-0, with goals coming from Dequan Washington, Jadan Havercome, and Carlito Noel. While Mahaicony Western Lions FC and Haslington Stars FC battled to a 1-1 draw, while Kuru Kururu emerged victorious in a thrilling 3-2 contest against Timehri United, powered by a brace from Immanuel Reid.
Later on, Herstelling Raiders recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over Circuitville, while Vertex Vipers FC produced one of the most dominant performances of the day, crushing Darmouth Finished FC 5-0 through a clinical attacking display led by Aaron Esbrond and Jomain Jones.
Good Hope Supernaam Rising Stars edged Charity Extreme FC 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller, with Selvin Williams starring with a hat-trick.
Elsewhere, Wayles FC overwhelmed Eagles FC 6-0, while Belle West followed up with a 3-1 victory over the same opponents. Den Amstel FC and Uitvlugt FC played to a scoreless draw, Danty Academy secured a narrow 1-0 victory over YMCA, and Netrockers FC shared the spoils with Fearless FC following a 1-1 stalemate.
Shifting attention on the Under-15 division, All Saints ground was the where all the action unfolded, on May 23, Monedderlust FC opened their campaign in emphatic fashion with a 6-2 victory over Young Strikers FC.
Kidonan Young Warriors and Paradise FC played to an entertaining 2-2 draw, while Ithaca FC were awarded a walkover victory against Cougars FC. Kwakwani Strikers also impressed, defeating Netrockers FC 4-1.
The action continued on May 24, Friendship All Stars clipped Swan FC 4-2, with Anthony Thomas netting a brace in the 33rd and 63rd minutes to lead his side to victory. Circuit Ville Jaguars overcame Elevate Sports Club 4-2 behind a sensational hat-trick from Anton Sampson.
Ann’s Grove produced one of the most remarkable performances of the tournament so far, dismantling Mahaicony Western Lions FC 13-0. Jeremy Fordyce and Ranako Morris each recorded hat-tricks in the lopsided encounter.
Melanie FC also showcased their attacking prowess with an emphatic 8-1 victory over Victoria Kings FC. Trevon DeJonge led the charge with a hat-trick, while LeBron Semple added a brace to cap off an outstanding team performance.
Continuing on Wednesday, May 27, Monedderlust FC continued their impressive run, bombarding Ithaca FC 13-0 to strengthen their position among the tournament frontrunners.
Paradise FC edged Young Strikers FC 4-3 in another closely contested affair, while Cougars FC bounced back from their earlier disappointment and a subsequent goalless draw against Ithaca FC by delivering a dominant 8-1 victory over Kidonan Young Warriors.
With the competition gathering momentum, the GFF Youth Ensemble Programme continues to highlight the immense potential of Guyana’s young footballers. The programme is also proving to be a vital platform for youth development and the future growth of football in Guyana.
