Kaieteur Sports- Linden’s ExxonMobil Inter-Schools Football Tournament rolled on Sunday at the Wisburg Secondary School Ground, where Mackenzie High School laid down an early marker with a dominant 4-1 win over Kwakwani Secondary. In the second match of the day, hosts Wisburg Secondary and New Silver City Secondary played out a 1-1 draw.
Mackenzie High wasted no time stamping their authority on the match, racing to a 3-0 lead before the break. E. Skeete opened the scoring in the 13th minute, pouncing on a loose ball in the box. D. Chapman doubled the advantage with a clinical finish in the 29th minute before Z. Larose capped off a well-worked move with a stylish third (goal) eight minutes later.

After the restart, K. McKenzie added his name to the scoresheet just two minutes into the second half, effectively killing off the contest. Kwakwani pulled one back through Kishawn Leacock in the 63rd minute, but it proved no more than a consolation as Mackenzie cruised to a comfortable win.
In the day’s second fixture, New Silver City and Wisburg Secondary battled to a 1-1 stalemate in a tightly contested encounter. After a cagey first half ended goalless, Silver City struck first when E. Elsworth beat the Wisburg keeper with a low drive. But the hosts hit back just eight minutes later, with Rashid Bobsemple finding the equaliser to share the points.
