Kaieteur News – Former Kings player Ryan Clarke and coach Gary Stephens have donated basketballs and boots to four basketball clubs, while footballs were also given to selected football clubs in Linden.
These donations were presented to club officials of Retrieve Raiders, Kings, Victory Valley Royals and Amelia’s Ward Jets at the home of Stephens and making the donation was Kings Club Secretary Ms. Lissa Robertson.
Kings, at one time the top club in Linden, has seen changes over the years and have placed emphasis on junior players and is concentrating on a junior programme for development.
A donation was also made to the Amelia’s Ward Panthers Football Club which received a football while others are to be made shortly.
Among those who witnessed the presentation were two former national women players who are attached to the club, Ms. Shana Jacobs and Nichola Jacobs and are spearheading the youth programme which should soon involve female players.
