Play in the second edition of the GT Beer/ Candy Boss and Antics Promotion 8-a-side Football Invitational tournament will continue today with two more matches under lights at the All Saints Scott Church ground in Princess Elizabeth Road, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
The games scheduled will see Georgetown Police taking on Pouderoyen FC of West Demerara from 19:00 hours, while in the second encounter Santos of Georgetown will do battle with Timehri Panthers of East Bank Demerara.
Thirty-two teams from Berbice, Georgetown, East Coast Demerara and West Demerara are battling for supremacy and a chance to win cash prizes and trophies in excess of $1.2 million.
Two matches were played when the tournament commence on Sunday last with Paradise FC swamping Black Sharks 12-1 and Rosignol United defeating Corentyne All Stars 4-1 to advance to the round of 16.
Among the sponsors on board are Banks DIH Limited under the GT Beer Brand, Fly Jamaica, Regional Health Services, Foot-soul, Bobb and Sons, National Sports Commission and Integrated Security. The coordinator is Tito “Candy Boss” Sancho. (Samuel Whyte)
