Guyana’s national men’s rugby commonly referred to as the ‘Green Machine’ has moved up one spot to ninth in the Americas rankings following their Rugby Americas North (RAN) South Zone 15s win over rivals
Trinidad and Tobago.
By virtue of their improved ranking they are now the highest ranked team in the Caribbean followed by Trinidad and Tobago one place shy of the Guyanese in tenth, while Cayman Islands that defeated North Zone champions Mexico recently moved up to eleventh.
Mexico dropped to twelfth as a result of their loss to the Cayman Islands.
The ‘Green Machine’ is now 51st in the world ranking (WR), while T&T is 55th, Cayman Islands 56th and Mexico 57th.
Argentina is the top ranked team in the Americas (9th WR) followed by the USA (17th WR) and Uruguay (18th WR) in that order.
