Jamaica Observer – VETERAN track and field coach Glen Mills will be the focal point of the inaugural CB Group/UWI 5K Walk/Run on Sunday, November 18, which marks part of the Grand Jamaica Homecoming 2012.
The run will begin on Golding Avenue near August Town, towards the roundabout outside the University gates near Irvine Hall, through the main gates of the University Hospital of the West Indies past the Mona School of Business, the University of the West Indies Ring Road along Gibraltar Road and ending at the University

The run will assist in raising funds for the UWI’s sports development and student scholarships and bursaries. The UWI’s sports programme, which is headed by Fitz Coleman, produced 2012 Olympic Games 110m hurdles bronze medallist Hansle Parchment, while Racers Track Club, headed by Mills, is based on the Mona campus.
Among those who train there are Olympic Games 100m and 200m gold medallist Usain Bolt, silver medallist Yohan Blake, and 200m bronze medallist Warren Weir.
