Sports clinic and inter-Block football starts on Saturday
Positive Vibes Football Club in collaboration with the Cinderella Promotions will hold a sports clinic and inter block football competition in the East Coast Village of Paradise.
The sports clinic is for children in the community and runs from August 17-30 at the Paradise Sports Club ground. The 2-hour sessions will be held from Mondays to Fridays and start at 16:00hrs each day.
The coaching clinic will teach youths on the rudiments of cricket, football, circle tennis, volleyball and basketball. Registration and orientation will be done from 16:00hrs on the opening day.
Cultural activist, social worker and football coach Ras Aaron Blackman will coordinate the programme.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and Positive Vibes Football Club Inter Block Football competition will commence at the Paradise ground on Saturday August 15 from 15:00hrs.
Bachelor’s Adventure battle Melanie Damishana in an Under-17 clash in the day’s first match while teams from the same 2 villages will face-off from 16:30hrs in the Open division first round match-up.
On Sunday August 16, Bare Root and Dazzell Housing Scheme play each other in the Under-17 competition before their senior teams do battle in the Open competition from 16:30hrs. Steve Ninvalle, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, is expected to kick off the ball to declare the competition open.
