Linden Elite Basketball League…. Royals and Jets score opening wins
– Competition continues with another doubleheader tonight at Amelia’s Ward Court
On an eventful opening night of the Linden Elite basketball league, which has been sanctioned the Linden Amateur Basketball Association and organised by Kevin Joseph and Kevon Scott, National Basketball Club champions Victory Valley Royals and Amelia’s Ward Jets recorded contrasting victories at the Retrieve Hard Court in Linden.
Royals, the Linden number one seed playing in the second game of the night, made light work as they scored an emphatic, 77-57 victory over home team Retrieve Raiders, while Jets had to survive an upset with a crowd pleasing, 57-55 win.
The tournament continues tonight (Friday) at the Amelia’s Ward Jard Court with another doubleheader feature, as the Jets will be at home to the Retrieve Raiders at 19.00hrs and the Block 22 Flames clash with Vikings at 20.30hrs.
Tomorrow night (Saturday) Jets match skills with Royals in the first game and in the second game Vikings take on Raiders.
Another double header is set for Sunday where game one features Flames versus Royals, and Jets clash with Vikings.
