Dartmouth Dominators claim double titles as EPFA GFF Youth Ensemble Regional Championship concludes

Kaieteur Sports – Dartmouth Dominators FC became the third club to secure double titles in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Youth Ensemble Programme after sweeping both the Boys’ Under-13 and Under-15 championships as the Essequibo Pomeroon Football Association (EPFA) brought its regional competitions to a successful close on Sunday.

The achievement was celebrated during a presentation ceremony hosted by the EPFA Executive Committee, which brought together the young champions, participating clubs, parents, officials and other football stakeholders in an atmosphere filled with excitement and pride.

Dartmouth Dominators’ impressive double has earned them places in the upcoming GFF Youth Ensemble National Championship, where they will go head-to-head with the respective champions and runners-up from the other eight Regional Associations.

Sunday, Dartmouth Dominators was unstoppable, starting with Under-13 competition, Dartmouth Dominators FC captured the championship, with Vertex Vipers FC finishing as runners-up. The Dartmouth side continued its winning run in the Under-15 division, securing a second title, while Charity Extreme FC claimed the runners-up position.

Individual honours were also presented following the conclusion of the two competitions. In the Under-13 category, Vertex Vipers’ Jamian Jones was named Best Goalkeeper, while Selvin Williams of Good Hope FC finished as the Highest Goal Scorer.

For the Under-15 division, Dartmouth Dominators’ Antwone Singh collected the Best Goalkeeper award, while Yohan Anthonio of Good Hope FC concluded his campaign as the Highest Goal Scorer.

GFF President Wayne Forde also travelled to Essequibo to join the EPFA football fraternity in celebrating the achievements of the young players and the successful completion of the regional championship.

During his featured remarks, Forde commended the EPFA Executive Committee for its commitment to the programme while also recognizing the efforts of the participating clubs, referees, parents and other stakeholders.

“I want to commend the Executive Committee of the Essequibo Pomeroon Football Association for your dedication and commitment to this programme, and I also extend my appreciation to the clubs, referees, parents and all the stakeholders who have contributed to its success,” Forde said.

He also praised the young footballers for their discipline and commitment throughout the competition, describing the national initiative as both historic and ambitious.

“The GFF Youth Ensemble Programme is not just historic; it is also ambitious. To coordinate a national youth competition involving more than 100 clubs across all nine Regional Associations is a gigantic task,” Forde added.

Forde also credited the GFF Technical and Competitions Departments, along with the executives of the Regional Associations, for their role in bringing the programme to this stage.

“I am proud of each of you, and I feel honoured to serve Guyana’s football alongside each of you. Your commitment to developing the next generation of footballers is helping to build a stronger foundation for the future of our game,” the GFF president said.

With the EPFA leg now completed, four teams have booked their places in the GFF Youth Ensemble National Championship. Dartmouth Dominators FC and Vertex Vipers FC will represent the Under-13 category, while Dartmouth Dominators FC and Charity Extreme FC will advance in the Under-15 division.

The national championship is expected to kick off in the coming days, with matches scheduled across all nine Regional Associations as the GFF’s ambitious youth development programme enters its completion phase.
