Firefighters battling the fire at Block 22 Wismar, Linden
Kaieteur News- Fire of unknown origin destroyed two homes located at Lot 263 Block 22 Wismar, Linden on Thursday.
The Guyana Fire Service (GFS) said “firefighters from the Wismar Fire Station responded promptly and immediately commenced firefighting operations.”
Upon arrival, the GFS said two homes were engulfed in flames.
“Through their coordinated efforts, firefighters successfully contained the blaze. However, both of the houses were completely destroyed,” a statement posted on the GFS Facebook page said while noting that investigations are underway to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the fire.
