Chandrapaul Persaud (85), Javid Shafeek (4-45) pilot West Coast Warriors to victory
Kaieteur Sports – Frontline batsman Chandrapaul Persaud and seamer Javid Shafeek churned out brilliant performances to pilot West Coast Warriors to a 61-run win against Gotham Cricket Club in another fixture at this year’s Commonwealth Cricket League 30-over tournament in New York.
Playing at Kissena venue last Sunday, Persaud struck a 56-ball 85 to help West Coast Warriors post up a respectable 264-6 from their 30-overs.

And then the inform Shafeek grabbed 4-45 off his allotted 6-overs as his team bowled out Gotham Cricket Club for 203 in the 26th over.

Zeeshan Ashraf led the fight with 52, an innings decorated with three sixes and four fours for Gotham.
Avinash Bhaskaran also chalked up a half-century (51) tucking away eight boundaries and 23 and 21 from Hari Sundaragopaul and Harsdeep Phaha respectively.
Shafeek, who is topping the wicket-column with 21 scalps, received good support from right-arm medium bowler Rajin Rahoman, who collected 2-33 (06).
Persaud was named the player-of-the-match for his batting brilliance.
The competition continues on Sunday.
