(Kaieteur News) – A young father of three dies Sunday evening after he was involved in an accident along the Corentyne. Twenty nine-year-old Samuel Anthony Campbell, of Liverpool Village, Corentyne died after his vehicle reportedly spun out of control and slammed into a utility pole.
Based on reports, the incident took place on the Epson Public Road in Corentyne, as Campell attempted to swerve from the path of two pedestrians who were avoiding an alligator advancing on the said public road.
The pedestrians’ movements prompted Campbell to turn suddenly to avoid hitting them, resulting in him crashing into the pole.
Campbell was a security guard attached to Sheriff Security Service, his sister confirmed to Kaieteur News on Monday.
“I received a call from a friend of mine at 10:55PM last night, stating that my brother Samuel was involved in an accident and that he is dead,” the grieving sister shared.
She has relied on multiple articles and social media reports for details, but so far, no direct information of what took place has been given to her.
She recounted her last moments with him.
“The last time I spoke to my brother was mid-May when he came and visited me. He was a jovial individual. There was never a dull moment when he’s around.”
Another sibling, Martin Campbell, shared with this publication the details of how he became aware of what had befallen his brother.
“I was out last night with one of my friends, and I received a message from Messenger, and the person was like ‘did you hear what happened to your brother?’ I said ‘what happened?’ and then she sent the licence. She sent a photograph of the licence with the caption on it. I didn’t get to read the caption, but when I was about to, my mother called and asked, “You hear what happened to Samuel?” Martin Campbell recounted.
Indeed, after the accident, the man’s licence was posted on Facebook by someone who sought assistance with identifying him.
Campbell leaves behind a daughter and a son.

Guyana becoming like Florida, where one may encounter “alligators” anytime, day or night because there are millions of them.
In all my life, 26 years, I never heard of alligator
crossing road in Guyana. This explanation for
cause seems far fetched, impossible.
Speeding would cause such extensive damage,
death.
