(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana Police Force, along with personnel from the Child Care and Protection Agency, have located a family following an online post.
Police said in a statement that the situation involved a 29-year-old woman and her four children, who were found at Puruni Landing, Region 7 on Tuesday April 14, 2026, following a social media post circulating online.
“Acting on the information, ranks made contact with the woman and the children at about 20:00hrs. The woman was subsequently escorted, along with the children, to the Bartica Regional Hospital, where medical attention was provided and the relevant authorities were notified regarding the welfare of the children,” police said.
On Wednesday around 11:00hrs, ranks from the Bartica Police Station and representatives of the Child Care and Protection Agency, visited the children at the hospital, where they were examined by a doctor and found to be in good health.
The mother and children remain at the Bartica Regional Hospital under observation and are awaiting transportation to Georgetown for further assessment.
