Panthera Solutions General Manager Tony Turnbull hands over the t-shirts to West Indies under 19 player Daniela Manns in the presence of youth players.
Kaieteur Sports – “Panthera Solutions is very pleased to be associated with the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club as it is a dynamic and very progressive organisation. We are confident that this contribution would play a major role in the continued development of the club cricket teams on and off the cricket field.” Those were the words of Tony Turnbull, General Manager of Panthera Solutions as he handed over a forty-feet by twenty-feet pitch covers and dozens of polo shirts to the club during a simple presentation at the St Francis Community Developers Conference Hall on Friday.
Panthera has been a sponsor of the club since 2000 and has played a major role in the club’s development over the last six years. Club Secretary Hilbert Foster, expressed thanks to the sponsor for the contribution, stating that the covers would enable the ground staff to fully protect the vital square of the pitch, bowlers run up and surrounding areas as the club already has two pieces of covers. The eighty yellow polo shirts would be used by the cricket teams, sponsored by Farfan and Mendes Ltd on the cricket field and at official ceremonies organised by the club. Farfan and Mendes Ltd is the parent body of the Panthera company, which is actively involved in Guyana oil and gas sector.
Cricket Manager Robby Kissoonlall stated that, Farfan and Mendes is the longest serving Official sponsor of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club having come on board since 1997. He stated that Panthera since 2020 has supported the club cricket development programme, Christmas Village, restoration work at the Area H Ground, co-sponsor the purchasing of a mobile grass cutter and also co-sponsor the club’s annual youth review magazine.
Earlier this year, the company donated close to half a million dollars of gear and cricket balls to the club cricket nursery. The Farfan and Mendes under15 and under16 teams has played a major role in the club producing sixty one of the seventy six national players produced since 1995. Overall the club has produced one hundred and thirty three players for Berbice, with fourteen playing for the West Indies and the United States of America at different levels. Among the Players produced under the Farfan and Mendes Ltd sponsorship are Assad Fudadin, Kevlon Anderson, Shemaine Campbelle, Royston Crandon, Delbert Hicks, Khemraj Mahadeo, Junior Sinclair, Sylus Tyndall, Jonathan Rampersaud, Jeremy Sandia, Abdel Fudadin, Shevon Marks, Eon Hooper, Clinton Pestano, Dominic Rikhi, Akshay Homraj, Brandon Prashad, Matthew Pottaya and Shawn Periera. Captain of the current under16 team was recently named the MVP of the Guyana Cricket Board inter county tournament and best bowler in the Cricket West Indies bilateral tournament versus Barbados.
Vice Captain Jayden Ganpat won the best bowler award in the 2025 under13 bilateral series versus Barbados as members of the five times Guyana Cricket Club of the year awardee continues to excel on the cricket field. Additionally, four members of the club are currently playing in the Guyana Cricket Board under 19 tournament – Rafeal Mckenzie, Ramzan Koobeer, Tameshwar Deonandan and Asif Marimuthoo. A total of eighteen members have gained selection on three different Berbice teams for 2026 while eight has been selected so far in the year on national teams.
General Manager Tony Turnbull stated that his company was very impressed with the club performance on the cricket field and was very pleased to assist. He pledged further assistance and encouraged management to uphold the high standards they have set themselves in the past.
