Kaieteur Sports – The BCB/Guyana Breweries U19 tournament continued this past weekend with a number of exciting encounters being contested across the Ancient County.
Saturday’s round saw over at Albion Ground, the home team handing Rose Hall Town ‘A’ a 7-wicket defeat after posting 126 all out in 43 overs, batting first.
Tameshwar Deonandan (32) was the lone main scorer, as off spinner Rovin Lallbeharry bagged 3-12.
In reply Albion ended on 127-3 from 23 overs with Nathaniel Ramsammy carrying his team to victory with 42.
Playing at home, Rose Hall Canje hammered Mt. Sanai by 199 runs, after racking up 309-8 off their 50 overs.
National players Romario Ramdeholl stroked (71), Adrian Hetymer (59) and Richard Ramdeholl (51), were the innings batting stars.
Justin Southwell claimed 2-30 for Mt. Sanai, who were bowled out for 110 in 23.3 overs, with Daymon Alder (31) the leading scorer.
Bowling for RHC Micheal Newland who scored 37 earlier, had his moment with returns of 3 – 29, finding support in Richard Ramdeholl (2-6).
Over at Bush Lot Ground in West Berbice, the hosts defeated Cotton Tree by 69 runs after making 165 all out in 30 overs, led by Akash Ramdewar (29).
Bowling for Cotton Tree was led by Arif Bacchus (4-45) and Christopher Baldeo (4-26) but in reply CT were bowled out for 96 in 27.2 overs despite a defiant 24 from Afridi Khan as Bush Lot’s Altaf Ali snared 5-10.
At Whim, Port Mourant defeated Rose Hall Town ‘B’ by 155 runs after scoring 228 all out thanks to Vishal Williams (64), Munesh Rampersaud (52) and Navin Budwah (32).
Bowling for RHT was piloted by Austin Narine who starred with magical figures of 6-18, but collapsed in the batting for 73 despite Nicolas Cameron scoring 31.
Joshua Persaud grabbed 4-5 and Williams 3- 5 to lead Port Mourant’s bowling.
Sunday’s action at Rose Hall Canje, witnessed the home team mauling Tucber Park by 10 wickets, after restricting the visitors to 37.
Bowling for RTC, Gautam Dhanraj bagged 3-10, while Adrian Hetymer (3-20) and Romario Ramdeholl (3-5) did additional damage.
In reply RHC reached their target in just 7 overs thanks to Richard Ramdeholl scoring 23.
At Rose Hall Town, the home defeated Port Mourant by 27 runs after scoring 232- 9 off their 50 overs.
Tameshwar Deonandan led with 60, while Razam Koobeer (49) and Roshan Crandon (35) added to the cause.
Bowling for Port Mourant, Munesh Rampersaud claimed 3-26 before witnessing his team collapse for 207 all out.
Vishal Williams missed a ton as he led with 86 while Navin Boodwah dug in for 53, as Asif Marimutoo bagged 4 for 38 to lead the opposition bowling.
