Kaieteur Sports – The G.O.A.P.C. would be playing off their “Spot the Talent Early”, secondary school boys 8 a-side Tapeball cricket competition on Saturday, 18th April, 2026 on the National Park tarmac or the GNIC ground from 9a.m. with a number of matches.
The games involve teams from Berbice, East Coast, Georgetown, East Bank, West Demerara and Essequibo with mainly boys from second, third and fourth forms with the aim of building more and better teams in the school system. At the end of the competition a lot of valuable prizes would be awarded to outstanding performances. The group is still seeking co-sponsorship from the business community.
On Sunday, on the National Park tarmac from 9a.m. would be the “One Guyana” Inter Ministries 11 a-side, 8 overs a-side knockout, bat your own Tapeball cricket competition, sponsored by Start Express a contracting company in Guyana.
A number of Ministries have already hinted their intention of participating, among them are M.O.E. Young Gums, which is being drawn from secondary schools, N.D.I.A, Ministry of Home Affairs, Parliament, Audit Office, Maritime Administration, E.P.A, Ministry of Housing, G.R.A, G.W.I, Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education Teachers.
The competition is being sponsored by Start Express and coordinated by James “Uprising” Lewis of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Other teams have until Friday to enter.
