(Kaieteur News) – The Ivan Madray T20 first division knockout cricket competition for teams in Berbice bowled off on Saturday, with one of the two scheduled matches. The other scheduled match was called off due to rain.
The final of the Ivan Madray Memorial T20 1st division cricket competition will be played on Sunday, February 8, at the Albion Community Centre ground beginning at 13:00 hrs.
The finalists are defending champions Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC) and Tucber Park Cricket Club (TPCC).
The two teams, which are among the top cricket teams in Berbice Cricket are expected to boost several Berbice, Guyana and West Indies players in the lineups. A keenly contested affair is in the making.
Albion, playing at home and being the defending champion, is expected to start as favourites. Tucber Park, on the other hand, has been playing good cricket this season and can defeat anybody on their day. The Tournament is sponsored by the Madray and Chintamani families in Memory of the legacy.
A total of 10 teams participated in the competition, they are the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association, Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, West Berbice Cricket Association, Young Warriors CC, Blairmont Community Centre, Police Cricket Club, Skeldon Community Centre and Berbice River Cricket Association.
