Int’l Import and Supplies sponsored Independence Secondary Schools Competition bowls off this weekend

Kaieteur Sports – Several Secondary Schools Second and Third Formers are getting ready for the weekend’s explosive Tapeball action as the Georgetown Office Assistants Promotion Committee (GOAPC) bowls off its exciting two-day International Import and Supplies sponsored Pre-Independence Tapeball Cricket Competition.

The highly anticipated event is set to electrify the National Cultural Centre tarmac and the National Park tarmac on May 23rd and 24th.

In a thrilling prelude to Guyana’s momentous 60th Independence celebrations, the competition will feature an array of talented young cricketers from several schools across the region.

Spectators can anticipate a fast-paced and dynamic eight-a-side, four-over (24-ball) knockout championship that promises to showcase the burgeoning talent and passion for Tapeball cricket.

The cricketing showpiece commences bright and early at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 23rd, at the National Cultural Centre tarmac. The action will then transition to the National Park tarmac on Sunday, May 24th, where the final matches and the crowning of the champions will take place.

This initiative, meticulously coordinated by the renowned grassroots organiser James ‘Uprising’ Lewis, aims to foster school participation and provide a vibrant platform for young athletes to showcase their skills.
