Kaieteur Sports – The Suriname Men and Women’s team inflicted some revenge on their Guyanese opponents yesterday when the Chess leg of the 2025 IGG continued at the National Racquet Centre.
Guyana’s Male team of Kyle Couchman, Sachin Pitamber, Micaiah Enoe, Alexander Zhang had a great opening day after beating Suriname on Friday night.
The Female squad led by Aditi Joshi, Maliah Rajkumar, Ciel Clement and Italy Ton-Chung also won their encounter versus the Dutch.
The Dutch then gained some revenge on their Guyanese opponents, winning last night’s encounter with the Boys securing 2.5-1.5.
Meanwhile, the Suriname Girls also got their revenge, overpowering the Guyanese 1-3.
Team Guyana Men won 2-0 with a 3.5-0.5 scoreline, while the Girls secured a 2-0, with a similar 3.5-0.5 scoreline during the opening rounds Friday.
Rounds continue today, with Guyana and French Guiana engaging in battle from 10:00h.
