Kaieteur Sports – The 2025 inaugural Unification One Guyana Softball Cup was officially launched Tuesday afternoon at Gandhi Youth Organization ground, Georgetown, Guyana.
The four-day extravaganza will bowl off on Thursday with the six-team Women’s knockout category while the men will be start competing from Friday in the round-robin T20 phase.

Regal Stationery and Computer Centre is the title-sponsor with Georgetown Softball Cricket League (GSCL) Inc. collaborating with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport to run off the tournament.
Matches to be played at various venues in Georgetown and on the East Coast of Demerara before all roads lead to the renowned GCC ground, Bourda for all men’s and women’s finals.
There will be three men’s categories comprising of Legends (Over-50), Masters (Over-40) and Open (All-Stars).
President of the GSLC Inc. Ian John speaking at the function expressed delight with this initiative by the Regal’s family.
He also expressed optimism of a successful tournament and thanked all the teams for registering.
In both the Over-50 and 40 Divisions, six teams each will be vying for a top cash-prize of $1,000,000 while the second-placed side set to pocket $200,000.
The girls’ championship side will cart off a trophy and $400,000.
According to John, these prizes are amazing and he is anticipating some fierce but at the same time exciting cricket from ball-one.
The MVP for the legends category will drive home a Toyota Vitz Car while in the MVP for the Masters, Open will ride away with a motor cycle each and the MVP in the ladies category will win a theee piece living room suite.
Tournament Director John Ramsingh elated with the launching of this mega softball event which attracts teams from New York Softball Cricket League and across Guyana.
Ramsingh pointed out that this will showcase Guyana’s softball cricketers’ talent.
Ramsingh echoed similar sentiments of John in expressing his profound appreciation to all the teams and sponsors for their commitment.
Ramsingh, an International Broadcaster, was positive that the entire competition will be thrilling.
Ramsingh mentioned that the Unification Softball Cup is a symbol of unity and that was why the tournament is being played in honour of the President, Prime Minister and Vice-President.
Attending at the opening were Secretary of the GSCL Inc. Telisha Ousman and Dr.Rajendra Singh, who gave remarks of being one of the sponsors.
