Kaieteur Sports – Arguably one of the more exciting matches this season was played on egg shells as Amir Jangoo scored a gritty half-century, while pacer Jayden Seales’ 4-wicket haul helped scythe through the Guyana Amazon Warriors last night by 4-wickets at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
A hush of silence turned a usually ruckus Warrior Nation fan base into a deep sea of shock, as one of the more entertaining low-scoring games this season.

It was a clinical bowling example from a team who lacked a bit of batting depth but threw their full support behind a world-class string of bowlers, which kept the Warriors to a season-low 99 all out inside 20 overs.
Windies fast-bowling sensation, and Man-of-the-match Seales was sublime, demonstrating his class and awareness of the conditions to finish with 4-15 from 3.1 overs.
Pakistan leg-spinner Usama Mir played the star supporting role equally well, as he snared 3-17 with a wicket each from senior spinners Imad Wasim and Shakib Al-Hasan, capping off a phenomenal bowling effort from the visitors.
In a game where the Warriors team in total could only muster 9 fours along with a pair of sixes, fans were subjected to seeing their team for the second successive game at home, having their batting exposed by some quality bowling.
Falcons, replying to arguably one of the easier chases this season, had a nightmare start before grinding their way to 103-6 with 5 balls left.
Left-hander Jangoo was the crisis-man, carrying his bat from start to end with his workman knock of 51 not out off 57 with three fours and 2 timely sixes at the backend of chase.
Jangoo and the hard-hitting Fabian Allen (15*) helped motor the Falcons home, as he too found the rare max boundary to go along with his solitary four.
Warriors spin-twins Imran Tahir (2-27) and Ali (2-10) were exceptional during their combined total of 8 over-spell but failed to get over.

Thanks to a brilliant first over from Tahir, which produced two wickets with the possibility of a hattrick or even a third scalp, coupled with Ali’s opening spell which yielded a few more wickets, Warriors seemed to be back into a position of winnability; with the Falcons 50-5 at the halfway stage.
Jangoo dug in as he remained the key and despite losing almost his entire core thanks to Tahir and Ali, his cool temperament prevailed as it complimented the no-nonsense approach of Allen to which he celebrated his milestone with the game already in the bag for his team.
The pair added 38 runs, including sealing the game with a four to seal what was their match-winning partnership under tense circumstances, eventually cutting loose with a flurry of boundaries; just as the Warriors looked to their bowlers for answers with overs almost over.
Earlier, leading run-scorer Shai Hope (26), along with arguably the most trying batters in the team as of recent, Quentin Sampson (19) and Dwaine Pretorius (12) did their best given the situation which the team found itself in during the innings.
One major setback is that of the struggling opening pair in Ben McDermott (14) and Ali (10) who continue to pressure the Warriors during the power-play.
This time, their duo’s failure resulted in the Warriors gasping for air at 3-26 heading into the 6th over; thanks mainly to Seales’ accuracy mixed with the cunning of Mir, who rattled the misfiring Warriors in a lopsided first innings.
