Joseph Szeplaki Triumphs as National Top Flight Golf League Tour #2 Intensifies
(Kaieteur News) – The National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) continued its exciting second tour with Round Four on Sunday, July 26, at the Lusignan Golf Club, where 20 golfers competed in another closely contested outing under warm, sunny skies. As the league progresses, players continue to battle for valuable points in pursuit of the Tour #2 title.
Although the rainy season has brought persistent rainfall in recent weeks, the Lusignan Golf Club course was presented in exceptional condition thanks to the tireless efforts of Grounds Superintendent Brian Hackett and the dedicated maintenance staff. Their commitment ensured the fairways and greens were restored to pristine playing condition, allowing competitors to enjoy a highly competitive and exciting round of golf.

Round Four of the National Top Flight Golf League was contested through the Lusignan Golf Club’s weekly club competition, with players’ performances in the club tournament determining the allocation of league points. As a result, competitors were not only vying for the day’s club honours but also for valuable points toward the overall Tour #2 standings.
The day’s action produced impressive performances throughout the field. Maxim “Danny” Mangra set the pace on the front nine with an outstanding net 34 to earn two league points, while Brian Hackett delivered the best back-nine performance with a superb net 32, also collecting two valuable points.
Following an intense contest, Joseph Szeplaki emerged as the overall winner with a net score of 72. He secured first place on a tiebreak to earn the maximum eight league points. Mike Mangal finished a close second with a net 73, while the remainder of the field continued to accumulate valuable points in the race for the overall standings.
Special prize winners also showcased their individual talents, with Maxim “Danny” Mangra claiming the Nearest-to-the-Pin award and Anand Persaud capturing the Longest Drive prize.
The latest standings reflect just how competitive Tour #2 has become. Anand Persaud leads the league with 18 points, closely followed by Maxim “Danny” Mangra on 17 points. Joseph Szeplaki’s victory has propelled him into third place with 11 points, tightening the race as the competition enters its next phase.
With momentum continuing to build, the National Top Flight Golf League now turns its attention to Round 5. Another exciting day of competitive golf is anticipated, and supporters of the sport are encouraged to come out and witness the action as players continue their quest for Tour #2 honours.
