Kaieteur Sports – The much-anticipated Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) Emancipation Horserace meet has been pushed back one week to its original planned date of Sunday August 3rd.
The event, which will be held at the club’s prestigious Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice facilities, has a total of six races on the day’s Programme.
There were already a number of entries and sponsors on board and with more time added a lot more horses and sponsors are expected to get on board.
There were close to $5M in cash trophies and other memorabilia at stake and that sum might be bumped up a notch.
The feature event remains the contest for animals classified E2 and lower over one-mile. The winning horse is set to race away with a sumptuous $500,000 and trophy.
The other events on the day’s card remains the event for H and Lower animals over seven furlongs. The winning stake is set at $400,000 and trophy.
The race for I3 and lower horses over five furlongs has a top prize of $300,000 and trophy.
The horses competing in the L Open contest will to battling over six furlongs. The winning prize is $300,000 and trophy.
Two years old Guyana bred Open animals has five furlongs to cover as they compete for the $300, 000 and trophy available for the top runner.
In the J and lower race, the animals will also be competing for the winners take of $300,000 and trophy in the six furlongs contest.
