Kaieteur Sports- The East Bank U14 Boys League resumed on Saturday, April 26th, at the GFF National Training Centre with another exciting round of matches—though only one of the three scheduled fixtures was contested on the pitch.
The day’s marquee clash saw Herstelling Raiders FC and Timehri United FC square off in a fiercely contested derby that lived up to expectations. In what proved to be an end-to-end thriller, it was Wayne Henry, a dynamic young midfielder from Timehri United, who emerged as the hero. Pouncing on a goalmouth scramble, Henry slotted home a decisive toe poke that proved to be the difference-maker in a match defined by high energy and relentless pressure from both sides.
Both teams showcased excellent defensive organization and impressive goalkeeping, with neither side willing to give an inch. Herstelling’s attacking threats were in full flow, but Timehri’s resolute backline held firm to secure the clean sheet and all three points. The victory sees Timehri United climb to the top of the league table in what is shaping up to be a highly competitive campaign.
The other two fixtures on the day were decided by walkover, with Police FC U14 Boys awarded full points after Swan FC failed to show, while Agricola FC gained a similar result against Friendship All Stars FC.
The East Bank U14 League action resumes today, Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, with more matchups expected as the young talents continue to battle for top honours.
