Kaieteur Sports- The stage is set as the town of Linden celebrates its 55th anniversary as a town, for the first-ever Linden Golden Mile athletics road race for Linden athletes, which is being staged in Amelia’s Ward this morning starting at 8.00am.
Athletes will compete in the 8-13, 14-16, 17-20 age categories where medals are on offer, while the Senior athletes are competing for cash incentives.
The race will begin outside the Toucan Mall in Amelia’s Ward, proceed along the roundabout, past P/Dey, through Main Street, onto Lovers Lane and back to the Toucan Mall for the finish.
This event has been given the green of the Athletics Association of Guyana and the organizers include Coach Johnny Gravesande (602-6506) and Noel ‘Bryner’ Campbell (630-8639).
