Sergeant century propels Farm to 115-run win over Success Youths

n the 592 Beer icool water T10 nationwide softball competition continued last weekend at Malteenoes Sports Club.
Sergeant struck 146, while Khalid Hanif made 26 as Farm posted 215-4, batting first. Success Youths were limited to 100-6 in reply. Aditya Bissoondyal and Pooran Deokarran made 27 and 23 respectively as Beepaul Bandoo claimed 2-26 and Amir Khan 2-27.
Speedboat beat Lowland by 74 runs. Speedboat batted first and scored 129-5. Greg Singh stroked 37, Lennox Marks made 28 and W. Sundar 25. Taleshwar Ramnar took 2-10.
Lowland were sent packing for 55 in 8.1 overs. Vishal Surujpaul got 25, while Wazeer Hussain captured 2-10 and Greg Singh 2-12.
Avengers overcame Success Youths by seven wickets. Success Youths took first strike and scored 92 all out in 9.2 overs. Mahendra Seepersaud made 38 and Michael Salikram 28. Marvin Bobb snared 2-19 and Ajay Persaud 2-21. Avengers replied with 94-3 in 8.2 overs. Ceion Smith slammed 46, while Bobb scored 22. Raj Narine captured 2-21.
Avengers defeated LBI by eight wickets. LBI took first knock and were bowled out for 83 in 9.4 overs. Afraz Pritipaul made 38; Mahase Singh took 2-17 and Rakesh Persaud 2-22. Avengers responded with 86-2 in 7.5 overs. Ramkumar Jairam led with 48, while Marvin Bobb made 23. Javid Alli claimed 2-18.
The competition will continue on June 30 at MSC and according to organiser Samuel Kingston there will be a 592 promotion at the venue and teams are asked to note that only the Trophy Stall balls are being used in the competition.
In the next round, Farm will face Countryside, East Coast All stars will play LBI, Farm will take on Speed boat, East Coast All Stars will battle Success Youths, Speedboat will face Avengers and Countryside will match skills with Lowland.
