Underdog in the 3yr old event, Feeona of the Jumbo Jet Stables is looking for a win against the other competitors in the Open 3yr old race. Feeona is a maiden racehorse and looking for her first win this Sunday in the Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Committee Horseracing championships at the Port Mourant Turf Club. The distance is in her favour this Sunday, 1500m. She is a slower horse who usually ran behind the field and finish fast in the last 400m. She only ran a 1000m meters race, and this will be her first at this distance.
Several other battles will highlight the event and Turfites will be licking their lips at the exciting contests fixed for the first leg of the now two-leg meet. The event was to be the first Triple Crown here but due to heavy rainfall which left the racetrack at Rising Sun Turf Club in an unfit state for racing, the first leg was cancelled.
Over $20million in cash prizes are up for grabs along with attractive prizes for fans in a grand raffle set to be drawn on April 29th. The raffle has a 2011 Nissan Tida sedan car as its first prize. The other prizes on offer are a 125 motor cycle, Samsung 40″ Smart TV, 2-samsaung cell phones, a stove, microwave and a Refrigerator.
Among the events listed for the two meets and their first prizes in the respective classes: C-Class and Lower – $1 million, F class and Lower/E- Class Non-earners/Last Start – $400,000, 3-year-old Guyana Bred – $350,000, H1 and Lower – $300,000, J/K & Lower – $240,000, K Class Non earner last start -$230,000 and L & Lower – $200,0000.
Other 1st prizes are as follows: C-Class and Lower – $1.2 million, F class and Lower/E- Class Non-earners/Last Start – $500,000, 3-year-old Guyana Bred – $400,000, H1 and Lower – $350,000, J/K & Lower – $240,000, K Class Non earner last start -$200,000 and L & Lower – $150,0000.
