Allie, who is currently based in the USA, told this publication that judging from early reports which seem to suggest that the Group will be fully subscribed; he must be at his best to hold the edge over his rivals.
He revealed that his Toyota Starlet which suffered mechanical issues during the final stanza of last season’s CMRC should be in fine mettle following extensive modifications and he is hoping for trouble free days over the period the Championship will be held at the new Circuit in Negril.
“I am scheduled to arrive a few days before qualifying so it is a question of me relying on the work done by my team of mechanics who’ve been with me over the years to ensure that I have the best possible chgance of doing well,” Allie said.
He insisted that he has to be ready since word is that most of the guys have done significant upgrades so it has left him with no other choice but to follow suit.
He, however, was positive that they (his team) will be ready in time to allow him the opportunity to do well against some of the best drivers in the Group in the Caribbean.
