Kaieteur Sports – Region 3 stuck with their number, as they finished 3rd in the Commissioner of Police T20 Cup 2026 which ended Thursday after handing Region 6 an 8 wickets defeat at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
Batting first in the prelude to what was a lopsided final won by Headquarters who their 4th consecutive title, Region 6 were knocked over for 110 in 17.1 overs, led by Lesroy Williams who nailed 43 off 39 balls ( 5×4 1×6).
Former Guyana and West Indies Test opener Assad Fudadin (14) was the only other player to reach double figures, Deon Singh (3-17) and 2 wickets apiece from Derol Archer and Hemraj Persaud steadied the bowling for Region 3.
Harpy Eagles left-arm spin all-rounder Anthony Adams, then led his team to unbeaten 35-ball featuring 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Emanuel Christnauth also had a brilliant game, stroking 50 not out from a mere 42 deliveries with 8 fours, as he and Adams took Region 3 to 111 for 2 in just 14.1 overs.
Meanwhile, Headquarters all-rounder Christopher Barnwell, was named leading run-scorer for this year’s Commissioner of Police T20 Cup, slamming a whopping 341 runs from 5 innings to claim the White Cap.
The leading bowler award went to Region 3’s Hemraj Persaud who bagged a total of 11 wickets also from 5 innings to capture the coveted Red Cap.
