Kaieteur Sports – Chase’s Academic Foundation delivered a commanding and unforgettable campaign in the 12th Annual Massy Distribution Secondary Schools Under-18 Football Tournament, capping it off with a ruthless 6–0 demolition of Santa Rosa Secondary in Saturday’s final at the Ministry of Education ground.
From the opening whistle, Chase looked unstoppable. Just two minutes in, Dianni Hardy sliced through Santa Rosa’s defense to create the first breakthrough, setting the tone for what would become a one-sided affair. The momentum quickly shifted into overdrive as tournament MVP Shaquan David took control of the contest.

Minister Steven Jacobs together with Minister Colin Croal share a winning moment with Massy Distribution U18 Football champions, Chase’s Academic Foundation after completing an unbeaten campaign with a 6-0 thrashing of Santa Rosa Secondary.
David was simply sensational. He struck a clinical hat-trick, including two calmly converted penalties that pushed Chase into a dominant 3–0 lead. But it was his thunderous strike in the 43rd minute that truly stole the spotlight—an explosive effort widely hailed as the “goal of the tournament,” giving Chase a 4–0 cushion heading into halftime.
The second half brought no relief for Santa Rosa. Immediately after the restart, Nyron Barrow delivered a perfectly weighted long ball into the box, where Onasi Dunn rose to nod home Chase’s fifth. Mark Glasgow then added the finishing touch in the 77th minute, burying the sixth goal to seal a resounding victory and yet another Massy title for the blue-clad champions.
Santa Rosa, once again, had to settle for the runner-up position after a difficult outing in the final.

MVP Move! Chase’s captain, Shaquan David nets hattrick in 6-0 rout to help seal 2026 Massy U18 Football championship.
Earlier in the day, West Ruimveldt Secondary secured third place with a 4–2 penalty shootout victory over Charlestown Secondary after regulation time failed to separate the two sides.
The tournament itself was a showcase of attacking football, producing an impressive 290 goals across the competition. Shaquan David stood above all, finishing with 17 goals to claim both the Most Valuable Player and Golden Boot awards, while Chase’s Fabio Kowlessar earned the Golden Glove for his standout performances between the posts.
With 32 schools competing, Chase’s dominance throughout the tournament underscored their status as Georgetown’s premier secondary school football programme.
The event also drew notable support, with Ministers Steven Jacobs, Sarah Browne-Shadeek, and Colin Croal in attendance, highlighting the growing importance of school football in Guyana.
Backed by Massy Distribution and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Demerara Mutual Group, and the Ministry of Education, the tournament once again proved to be a major success, further cementing its place as a cornerstone of youth football development in the country.
