The management of Ansa McAl was in a generous mood Tuesday morning and shortly after donating a sizeable sum towards the Kennard Memorial Turf Club’s Emancipation Meet, doled out a similar package to the cycling fraternity.
In this photo Mr. Choo-wee-nam receives the gift from Mr. Maikoo in the presence of other cyclists of the club.
This time, Divisional Manager (Ansa McAl), Sunesh Maikoo, handed over a set of uniforms to ‘Team Alanis’ a cycling team headed by top local cyclist, Paul Choo-wee- nam, currently preparing to compete in the Ricks & Sari Memorial Race from Wales to Parika, West Coast Demerara on Sunday.
Moments after the gift exchanged hands Mr. Maikoo revealed that the sponsorship deal falls under the Lucozade energy drink. The Ansa McAl executive said that his firm is delighted to support the cyclists and Lucozade is the adequate product.
“Lucozade is growing and this event provides a perfect opportunity for us to showcase the product,” said Mr Maikoo. He pointed out that the cyclists are talented and when their talent is juxtaposed with such a great product as Lucozade it makes for a perfect combination.
Mr. Choo-wee-nam was indeed grateful for the support and told his benefactors just so. “The cycling fraternity is in need of this kind of support to move forward and I’d like to thank Ansa McAl for this corporate intervention while imploring similar support from other business entities,” exhorted Choo-wee-nam.
Several other members of the cycling club were at the ceremony including Paul DeNobrega, Andre Abdool, Cleveland King, Jaleel Jackson and Christopher Griffith.
