Kaieteur Sports – The Massy Distribution 12th Annual Secondary Schools Boys Under-18 Football Tournament is heating up nicely, shaping into a wide-open title race as teams battle for top two spots in their respective groups.

Strong performances from Santa Rosa, Chase’s Academic Foundation, Annandale, Three Mile, and West Ruimveldt Secondary have seen them rack up valuable points early, but the table remains tightly contested. With goal difference, wins, and even draws likely to prove decisive, while several other schools remain firmly in the mix to finish top and secure place into the elimination stage.

All eyes turn to Queen’s College’s double pitches this morning, where the action will unfold under bright skies. Youth football supporters can expect a full slate of fixtures today and tomorrow, packed with intensity, as 32 schools look to secure crucial results heading into the latter stages. With the Petra Organisation aiming to wrap up this decisive phase of the 2026 edition, every match carries significant weight.

The opening whistle blows at 10:30hrs as Patentia Secondary squares off against Anna Regina Secondary. Both sides have everything to play for; Anna Regina enters with a win and a loss, while Patentia holds a slight edge with a win and a draw. Expect a high-tempo encounter as both teams push for three vital points.

West Ruimveldt Secondary aiming for third straight win against Zeeburg Secondary.

At the same time, Yarrowkabra Secondary will lock horns with Hope Secondary in what promises to be a pivotal clash. Yarrowkabra comes in with confidence and momentum, boasting a superior goal difference following a commanding 5–1 victory over Zeeburg Secondary. Hope Secondary, still searching for their first points after two early defeats, they now face an uphill battle against Patentia, they will need a more discipline approach and an attacking edge to stay alive in the competition.

The action heats up when East Ruimveldt Secondary goes head-to-head with President’s College, while Lodge Secondary takes on Vryman’s Erven Secondary. President’s College and Vryman’s Erven are both under pressure after back-to-back losses, making this a must-win scenario. Meanwhile, East Ruimveldt and Lodge will be looking to build on their lone victories and gain momentum at a crucial stage.

Later in the day, Brickdam Secondary faces off against Saints Stanislaus College, while Dolphin Secondary (yet to hit top form) comes up against New Campbellville Secondary in a key matchup that could possibly shake up the standings.

Good Hope Secondary will be hoping to turn their fortunes around when they meet Charlestown Secondary. With both teams desperate for points, Charlestown may feel slightly more confident, having secured a win and a draw so far. Good Hope, however, will need to dig deep and produce a spirited performance to keep their hopes alive.

The close the day’s fixtures, frontrunners West Ruimveldt Secondary will also take to the pitch, aiming to maintain their perfect run as they face Zeeburg Secondary in pursuit of a third consecutive victory.
