The Blairmont Community Centre Cricket Club (BCCCC) was recently the recipient of financial assistance and a new set of uniforms compliments of Baksh Travel Service (BTS) of West Berbice.
Manager of the BTS, Maria Baksh, recently handed over a cheque valued $50,000 and the uniforms to the members of the BCCCC at a simple presentation ceremony held at the business’s office.
Mrs. Maria Baksh hands over the uniforms to Blairmont’s Nick Ramsaroop as members of the club and sponsors look on.
Ms. Baksh in making the presentation stated, “We are pleased to be associated with the club and is pleased with how the team has performance over the years.” She also noted the rapid growth the club has made over the past few years, stating that, “We are proud to give back to the community and support activities that keep youths away from social ills.”
She expressed confidence in the BCCCC and challenged the members of the club to maintain their high level of performance. She also urged the members that for 2013 they should continue with projects that will target and assist youths, the elderly and the less fortunate.
In expressing gratitude, Mr. Angad Ganesh, First Vice President of the club, thanked the principals of the Baksh Travel Service for their foresight and continued confidence in the club. He also took the opportunity to call on other business entities to come forward and support the club. He and the other members gave the assurance that the donations will be used for its intended purpose. (Samuel Whyte)
