GCB announces squad for Regional One Day tourney
The Guyana Cricket Board selectors yesterday released a 24-member squad to prepare for the West Indies Cricket Board One Day competition following the conclusion of the Inter-County tourney Saturday.
A strong Guyana squad, which includes Test players Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Travis Dowlin and Sewnarine Chattergoon, along with veteran Mahendra Nagamootoo was named to represent the country in the 2009 Regional One day Tournament and also the Guyana Cricket Board Fund raising T/20 Cricket Festival here later this month.
The squad: Ramnaresh Sarwan, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Travis Dowlin, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Christopher Barnwell, Narsingh Deonarine, Richard Ramdeen, Royston Crandon, Shemroy Barrington, Gajanand Singh, Assad Fudadin, Steven Jacobs, Dellon Heliger, Delbert Hicks, Esaun Crandon, Veersammy Permaul, Davendra Bishoo, Brandon Bess, Trevon Garraway, Sauid Drepaul, Mahendra Nagamootoo, Jonathan Foo, Derwin Christian and Dion Ferrier.
The players are asked to report to the GCC Ground, Bourda at 9:00 am tomorrow for the commencement of practice sessions.
