The Port Mourant Turf Club situated at Port Mourant on the Corentyne Coast come alive on Easter Sunday when that entity stages its annual one day horserace meet.
Seven races are slated for the days programme which will have a whopping $3M in trophies and cash incentives available for the top performers.
They are two main events on the programme. The B and Lower race over a distance of 1200M will see the winner receiving a whopping $340,000 while those taking part in the and 3-yrs-old open showdown over the1400M has a tantalizing $240,000 to aim for. The 2-yrs old Open 5 furlongs event and the F and Lower 6 furlongs events have hefty first prizes of $200,000 each.
The F and Lower race, which also covers a distance of 1400M, has $220,000 for the winner.
The H class 1200 event will see the winner receiving $160,000. There is $120,000 available for the winner of the J and Lower event which covers a distance of 1400M, while the winner of the J class contest over a distance of 1200M will see the champion taking away $100,000.The winner of the L class contest collects $90,000 in the 1200M race.

Horse owners are reminded to get their horses properly registered with the GHRA as soon as possible as unregistered horses will not be allowed to participate.
