Diamond Secondary defeat The Bishop’s High to claim Emancipation Tapeball cricket title
Kaieteur Sports – The secondary schools’ boys Tapeball cricketers had their Emancipation competition, which was played on Saturday last on the National Culture Centre tarmac.
Mr. Smith from the USA hands over the trophy and the cash incentives for the winning team.
In the final Diamond Secondary school defeated The Bishop’s High school to win the beautiful Emancipation trophy, which was donated by the Coordinator James Lewis and the Trophy Stall.
Diamond Secondary batted first and scored 43 runs off their allotted overs, Paul McTurk top scored with 26 runs.
When The Bishop’s High batted, they only scored 36 runs in their allotted overs. The next big competition is the after CXC results for all the CXC and Cape students’ round robin for trophies, medals and cash incentives for the winner and runner up teams.
