Andre Cummings Returns in Style as Promotech & Danny Auto Sales NTFGL Tour #2 Resumes with Spectacular Round Five
Kaieteur Sports – After an agonizing five-week weather interruption, the Promotech & Danny Auto Sales National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) Tour #2 resumed on Sunday at the Lusignan Golf Club with an exciting Round Five that featured outstanding performances and a dramatic shake-up in the championship standings.

Following weeks of persistent rainfall, recent drainage improvements and desilting works by the Lusignan Golf Club grounds staff have restored the course to excellent playing condition. Players were greeted with firmer fairways and improving greens as they eagerly returned to competitive action after the lengthy layoff.
Andre Cummings emerged as the standout performer of the day, producing a composed and consistent round to capture both the Back Nine title and the Overall Championship. After a scoring correction, Videsh Persaud officially secured the Front Nine title with an impressive net 34, while Cummings matched that score on the back nine before finishing with an outstanding net 70 to claim the overall victory and the maximum 10 championship points.
Adding to the excitement, Brian Hackett delivered one of golf’s rarest feats, a spectacular hole-in-one on the 19th hole. A moment that electrified the field and underscored the day’s competitive spirit. Following his victory, Cummings humorously remarked, “I won on the course… but lost on the 19th hole,” drawing laughter from fellow competitors and highlighting the camaraderie that continues to define the league.
Patrick Prashad finished second overall with a solid net 73 to earn five championship points. Joseph Szeplaki continued his consistent campaign by placing third with a net 74, while Bala Vijimoor secured fourth place with a net 75. Videsh Persaud rounded out the points positions with a net 76, adding another valuable point to his tally.
Following Round Five, Anand Persaud continues to lead the Promotech & Danny Auto Sales NTFGL Tour #2 standings with 18 points, but his advantage remains slim as Maxim Mangra sits just one point behind on 17. Joseph Szeplaki has strengthened his hold on third place with 14 points, while Videsh Persaud occupies fourth on 11 points. Fresh off his Round Five victory, Andre Cummings has surged into fifth place with 10 points.
Bala Vijimoor is sixth on seven points, followed by Patrick Prashad and Santo Dinanauth, who are tied on six points each. Arnol Deo and Spencer Hutchings share ninth place with five points apiece, while Fazil Hanif has four points. Mike Mangal sits on three points, Brian Hackett and Patanjilee Persaud each have two points, and Chet Bowling rounds out the standings with one point.
With only a few rounds remaining, the race for the Promotech & Danny Auto Sales NTFGL Tour #2 championship remains wide open. Every stroke and every point will become increasingly important as the league heads into its decisive stages, setting the scene for an exciting finish to what has been another highly competitive season.
