Fredricks (92), Nurse (3-2)/Gildharie (3-11) dismantle Charity by 131 runs

Abram Zuil Secondary School stormed to the Zone 1 Region 1 & 2 title following a comprehensive win over Charity yesterday.
– Abram Zuil crowned Zone 1 champions
Kaieteur Sports – A masterful half-century from opener Ravid Fredricks, coupled with some sublime bowling, helped Abram Zuil crush Charity Secondary by a massive 131-run deficit to solidify themselves as the champions of Zone 1.
In Zone 1 finals at the new Anna Regina stadium, Abram Zuil stormed to their title win after a few rounds of dominance over the last few weeks leading up to yesterday’s final encounter.
All-rounder Ravid Fredricks stroked an aggressive 92 to help seal an empathetic win, while ending with the most runs and wickets for his Zone.
Man-of-the-match Fredricks, who comes from a deep cricketing family, narrowly missed out on a highlight ton, but nevertheless fetched his team’s innings singlehandedly with a classy innings of 92.
The opener hit 13 fours and 2 sixes during his 68-ball stay at the crease, finding help from Eshwar Tilak, who scored 28 off 36 balls with 2 fours; which formed the nucleus of Abram Zuil’s 162-4 off 20 overs.
Charity bowling struggled against Fredricks, with only three of their 6 bowlers returning a wicket each, led by one of the in-form players of the tournament in Jeral Gildharie (1-21).
Charity wound themselves battling against the tides as the trio of Rhonel Nurse (3-2), Shivesh Bridgemohan (3-11), and all-rounder Tilak (2-12) restricted them to a paltry 31-10 in the 10th over.
Lone double-digit scorer, Gildharie (13) then followed up his decent spell but found little to no help from any of his teammates; who never got out of the blocks thanks to Abram Zuil’s clinical bowling performance.
Meanwhile, the all-round opener Fredricks, ended the finals with a bang, having signed off with the Most Runs which was 113 and the Most Wickets (7) for his receptive Zone.
