Kaieteur Sports – Guyana’s boxing team is primed and ready to step into the ring as the 2026 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games boxing competition gets underway in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Leading the charge are National Champion Desmond Amsterdam, the experienced Colin Lewis, and the ever-improving Terron Wintz, three determined athletes carrying the hopes and aspirations of a nation with a proud and distinguished boxing tradition.
The team has successfully completed all pre-competition requirements, including mandatory SRY gender eligibility clearance, official weigh-ins, and the competition draw, clearing the way for the Guyanese trio to focus solely on the task ahead.
Over the past several months, the boxers have undergone an intensive preparation programme, including multiple high-performance training camps and sparring sessions, fine-tuning every aspect of their physical and technical readiness. Following their final training sessions in Santo Domingo, the team enters competition in excellent condition and fully prepared to challenge for medals.
Guiding the squad is Head Coach Jeff Roberts, whose experience and leadership have played a key role in the team’s preparations and confidence heading into the championships.

Team Guyana’s squash contingent has arrived in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and is ready to proudly represent the Golden Arrowhead at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games.
Representing Guyana are Mary Fung-A-Fat, Ashley Khalil, Kirsten Gomes, Jason Ray Khalil, Samuel Ince-Carvalhal, and Daniel Ince, a talented blend of experience and emerging talent determined to make their mark against one of the strongest squash fields in the region.
The team is under the guidance of Head Coach Raymond Chan-A-Sue and Team Manager Lorraine Ince. The players completed their first official practice session yesterday, settling into the competition venue as they fine-tune preparations ahead of the opening matches.
On the men’s side, Jason Ray Khalil joins the talented Ince brothers, Samuel and Daniel, as they lead Guyana’s charge against a highly competitive field. The women’s campaign will be spearheaded by Mary Fung-A-Fat, Ashley Khalil, and Kirsten Gomes, all eager to showcase Guyana’s growing strength in regional squash.
With months of dedicated preparation behind them, Team Guyana is focused, motivated, and ready to compete with pride as they pursue success on the CAC Games stage.
