Minister Charles Ramson Jr and GCB president Bissoondyal Singh arrive at the facility
Kaieteur News – Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Hon. Charles Ramson Jr., paid a visit to the Guyana Cricket Board’s LBI Cricket Facility, where plans are advancing for the rehabilitation of the indoor practice facility and hostel.
The indoor facility has long played an important role in the preparation of Guyana’s national teams, providing players with the opportunity to sharpen their technical skills and maintain vital practice, particularly during the rainy season when outdoor training is often affected.
The LBI hostel, together with the Essequibo Cricket Board Hostel, is also used to accommodate cricketers and match officials during Inter-County tournaments, national encampments and other cricket development programmes.
Earlier this year, GCB President Bissoondyal Singh engaged His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali regarding the rehabilitation of both cricket facilities, highlighting their importance to the continued development of the game.
While at LBI, Minister Ramson also took the opportunity to interact with parents and young cricketers, as the Demerara Cricket Board Under-13 Tournament was in progress.
Several GCB executives and match officials were present during the visit, including GCB President Bissoondyal Singh.
The Guyana Cricket Board is extremely grateful to President Ali and his administration for delivering on this commitment, which represents another important investment in cricket development and infrastructure across Guyana.
