Kaieteur Sports – Guyana’s Under-14 Boys continued their impressive start to the 2026 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Challenge Series on Monday, securing their second consecutive victory with a commanding 4-1 triumph over Anguilla in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The young Golden Jaguars, buoyed by Sunday’s statement victory over Montserrat, once again delivered a strong attacking performance to maintain their momentum in Group C.
Top scorer Aaron Vasconcellos spearheaded the charge, netting twice in the opening 24 minutes to put Guyana firmly in control.
Vasconcellos opened the scoring in the eighth minute before doubling Guyana’s advantage 16 minutes later with an exquisite close-range finish, giving the Jaguars a 2-0 cushion.
Guyana continued to apply pressure despite a cheeky consolation from the Anguillans, the Guyanese were rewarded a third goal of the contest in the 35th minute when Dane Vancooten made full use of a well-delivered cross to fire home, stretching the lead to 3-0.
The Anguillans managed to pull one back before the interval, but Guyana carried a comfortable 3-1 advantage into the break.
The Young Jaguars remained composed after the restart and continued to dictate the contest, with midfielder Asher McIntyre putting the result beyond doubt in the 56th minute with a composed finish.
The 4-1 victory capped another polished display from Guyana, who have quickly emerged as a force to be reckoned with on the regional stage.
The Golden Jaguars will now turn their attention to their final Group C assignment against The Bahamas today, August 19, with kick-off scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in Punta Cana.
With two wins already secured, Guyana will enter the final group fixture full of confidence as they look to complete a perfect preliminary-round campaign.
