Part of the action on Saturday between Cougars FC and Kuru Kururu FC.
Kaieteur News –Intense competition continued in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Youth Ensemble Under-13 National Championship Playoffs on Monday, as several teams edged closer to the coveted national title.
Following Saturday’s opening round, the National Training Centre (NTC) once again provided the stage for a series of tightly contested encounters, although the day’s sweltering conditions appeared to contribute to a low-scoring affair.
Goals proved difficult to come by, as regional champions battled fiercely resulting in all three matches ending in goalless draws as clubs showcased disciplined defensive performances throughout day two action.
Gladiators FC and Cougars FC battled to a 0-0 stalemate in a competitive encounter, with neither side able to find the decisive breakthrough despite creating opportunities.
Gladiators were involved in another scoreless affair later in the day, sharing the points with Kuru Kururu FC. Kuru Kururu’s Emmanuel Reid was booked in the 36th minute, but both teams maintained their defensive shape to preserve the clean sheets.
On the East Coast, Buxton Stars FC and Timehri United FC also finished 0-0, adding to a day dominated by defensive resilience and tactical discipline.
The U13 National Championship brings together the leading youth clubs that emerged from competitions organised by the GFF’s nine Regional Associations, giving the young footballers an opportunity to compete against some of the country’s best teams in their age group.
The championship forms part of the GFF’s broader Youth Ensemble Programme, which is aimed at strengthening Guyana’s player-development pathway through structured competition and increased playing opportunities for young footballers across the country.
With the national title now within reach, competition is expected to intensify as the remaining fixtures unfold and teams battle for the opportunity to be crowned Guyana’s U13 national champions.

GFF Youth Ensemble U13 National Championship Playoffs continue with tight contests on Monday.
