Kaieteur Sports – RS Sports has announced that the inaugural Champion of Champions Female Softball Cup, originally scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2026, has been rescheduled to Sunday, July 19, 2026, due to unforeseen circumstances.
Despite the change in date, organizers have assured participating teams and cricket enthusiasts that the tournament will proceed as planned, promising an exciting day of competitive female softball cricket in Region Three.
The event marks a significant milestone in the development of women’s softball cricket in Guyana and forms part of RS Sports’ ongoing commitment to expanding opportunities for female athletes. The tournament is designed to encourage greater participation in the sport while providing a high-quality platform for players to showcase their talent and compete at a national level.
Teams from across Guyana are expected to participate, with the tournament anticipated to attract strong public support and bring together players, supporters, sponsors, and members of the sporting community in a family-friendly environment.
A total prize package has been announced, with the championship team receiving $300,000 and a trophy, while the runners-up will earn $70,000 and a trophy. Individual awards will also be presented for the Most Valuable Player (MVP), Player of the Final, Best Batter in an Innings, and Best Bowler in an Innings.
Organizers disclosed that arrangements are being finalized to have the semi-finals and championship match played under lights, enhancing the experience for players and spectators alike. Cricket balls will also be provided to all participating teams.
The tournament is being supported by DM Beauty World and Sankar Auto Works, whose sponsorship has contributed to the successful staging of the inaugural event.
The entrance fee is $20,000 per team. Teams wishing to participate are encouraged to register early by contacting Sedik on 698 6406 or RS Sports via WhatsApp at 726-1386.
