Cuban national dies after being struck by high-pressure hose at construction site
(Kaieteur News) – A 25-year-old Cuban national died on Friday after being struck in the head by a high-pressure hose that swung out of control at a construction site in Providence, East Bank Demerara.
Dead is Yuviosmar Galindo Cardona.
Police say the incident occured around 09:45hrs. According to preliminary investigations, Cardona was operating a high-pressure hose attached to a cement machine when he lost control of it. The hose swung back and struck him in the head.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His body was taken to a funeral home where it awaits a post-mortem examination. Investigations are continuing.
