DM Beauty World supports the inaugural Champion of Champions Female Softball Cup
Kaieteur Sports – Female softball cricketers around the country will take to the field as RS Sports will be hosting the inaugural “Champion of Champions Female Softball Cup” on Sunday, 12th July in Region 3 from 9 am.
This landmark event is being organized with the objective of promoting and advancing female participation in softball cricket across Guyana while providing a professional and competitive platform for female athletes to display their skills and abilities.
D.M Beauty World of Regent Street, Georgetown has thrown it supports towards the event. Ms. Shivmattie Francis, representing the business entity, said that her boss was very pleased to be invited to be part of the tournament and fully supports the development of sports. She said that her entity is very excited to support this particular tournament because it’s an all-female competition and will see female softball cricketers in action, which is hardly being seen or known as part of this sports.

Ms. Francis went on to say that her entity’s support shows and plays part of their corporate responsibility of giving back to the community and by supporting this tournament it’s one way of supporting sports development especially at the grassroots level.
She went on to wish all the teams the very best and said that let the games be played in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
Ms. Deanne Fay La Rose of RS Sports thanks Ms. Francis and her entity for coming on board and being part of the tournament.
She said that by coming onboard it helps to develop cricket, especially amongst female players, and that female softball cricket is on the rise, and this tournament is a stepping stone in enabling the players to showcase their talents for the games amongst each other.
Ms. La Rose assures the management of D.M Beauty World that the competition will be played in all fairness and according to the rules to ensure it is successful.
D.M Beauty World is known for supplying and helping to beautify our nation through its line of quality brand products.
Fans on the day will have the opportunity to visit the business booth that will be on site to offer a first-hand look at their products.
According to the organisers, it will be an open competition and the order of the day will be round-arm bowling with extras in place in the limited-overs affairs competition.
Organised and coordinated by RS Sports, the competition will offer the winning team $300,000 and a trophy, while the runner-up will take home $70,000 and a trophy. Individual awards will include Most Valuable Player (MVP) – $20,000 and a trophy, and Player of the Final – $10,000 and a trophy.
Additional prizes will be awarded for: Best Bowler in an innings, Best Batter in an innings, Most Sixes in an innings, Most Fours in an innings, and Player of the Match in each game.
The entrance fee per team is $20,000.
Plans are also being finalized to have the semi-finals and final played under lights, while cricket balls will be provided for participating teams.
