Kaieteur Sports – Abdool “The terminator” Sattaur, Suresh Ganouri and Mr Permaul, all deceased and former members of the prestigious Albion Cricket Club, were remembered and recognized for their contributions to the lovely game of cricket with a specially arranged 25 overs cricket game. The match was played on July 12th, 2026 at the Waterloo Cricket Ground, Kitchener, Canada. Sattaur and Ganouri represented Guyana, while Permaul was a cricket enthusiast.
The teams, captained by Abdool Samad and Balram Ganouri, brothers of Abdool Sattaur and Suresh Ganouri respectively, were selected from former national and international cricketers from Canada and the USA, all of whom are connected to the trio.

Scores: Ganouri XI batting first, scored 117 all out with a top score of 20 runs apiece for Farhad Haniff and Daniel. Bowling for Sattaur XI, Abdool Samad took 2 wickets while Raj Rai and Jaden Singh supported with a wicket each.
In reply, Sattaur XI raced for 126 for 2 with former National Senior all rounder, Sunil Dhaniram, scoring 36 retired. Derek Kallicharran, former West Indies “B” team player who narrowly missed out on West Indies senior selection, supported with 34 not out and Jafar Samad 29 retired. Bowling for Ganouri XI, Mundh Sharif took both wickets.
At a simple ceremony after the match, the players that participated, thanked the families for the opportunity to celebrate the legacies of the late stalwarts. Special mention was made of Raj Misir for organizing the game and providing the venue, meals and refreshments. They are looking forward for an annual event.
